  • Intimacy Anorexia Training

The AASAT Intimacy Anorexia Training Course helps you understand and treat intimacy anorexia and its associated cycles of behavior involving a lack of intimacy in relationships. This course is 38 hours long and is geared for counseling professionals, coaches, and ministry partners who are interested in becoming certified in the field of intimacy anorexia treatment. Dr. Weiss developed this program and defined the term “intimacy anorexia” after he noted links between certain behaviors that contributed to the withholding of intimacy in relationships. Intimacy Anorexia is one of the fastest-growing relational issues facing counselors.

Intimacy Anorexia is the emotional, spiritual, and sexual withholding from a spouse. Updated in 2020, this course is the first one of its kind with in-depth information and practical techniques to facilitate intimacy anorexia recovery. Each session has an associated worksheet that reinforces the main ideas. While this class is meant for counselors, it is also great for anyone in the recovery process (including addicts, partners, or adult children of an addict).

This course is a remote, self-paced training program. This flexibility allows you to work through the material at your own pace. You can complete the Intimacy Anorexia Training anywhere you have access to the internet.

The Intimacy Anorexia Training also counts toward 38 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and you receive a certificate of completion after completing the coursework.
